"I was given the First Aid book in Long Island in the summer of 2008 when I was travelling for a year with my wife Tatiana. I started painting in this book immediately, and these drawings inspired me to make large paintings incorporating the Band-Aid image, and in Argentina in early 2009, I exhibited six large canvases with the Band-Aid image" – Barry Kamen
